What's the Difference? - Jefferson's Ocean Bourbon vs Jefferson's Ocean Rye

Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea, Blend of Straight Bourbon Whiskeys

Jefferson's Ocean Bourbon begins its journey as the Jefferson's Reserve, an 8-year-old high-rye bourbon. Around 200-400 barrels are loaded into a shipping container and placed on a cargo ship. Each voyage departs the port of Savannah, Georgia, lasts between 6 and 12 months, and, on average, visits 25 ports and five continents and crosses the equator twice. The constant movement of the ocean and extreme temperature fluctuations as the ship travels the globe completely transform the whiskey. You can track the path of each voyage by visiting the link to the ship's log. This product is bottled 90 proof (45 % ABV).

Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Rye, Double Barrel Rye Whiskey

Jefferson's Ocean Rye also starts as an 8-year-old rye whiskey, but unlike the Ocean Bourbon, this expression is transferred from its original new charred barrel into a second toasted barrel for the ocean voyage. This product is non-chill filtered and bottled at 96 proof (48 % ABV).
